“No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man,” an interesting quote from a Greek philosopher Heraclitus in 544 BC. If we will reflect on this quote about time management, it reveals a profound meaning for us. Time like the river flows, and once the flow of time passes, we do not have the power to bring it back. Flowing with time is the opportunities that present only once, and failing to seize the moment time will never offer the same opportunity to us. In other words, managing time is managing opportunities.
For an entrepreneur, it is critical that early on to acquire time management skills. Time is the most valuable resource of an entrepreneur who needs to accomplish the right things at the ripe time. It takes a dedicated mind to develop time management skills. Consequently, less stress and a more successful enterprise is the merchandise of strong time management skills. As a student and a future successful entrepreneur here are the few exciting elements in developing time management skills
Planning is the key
Planning is the key to effective time management, the most essential step from chaos to control. Planning focuses on the entrepreneur’s energy to the most critical goal to accomplish. An entrepreneur with a plan spent every minute of the day with a purpose. Subconsciously the entrepreneurs already knew what things they should be doing at every moment. Mentally the mind prepares the whole being of the entrepreneur for the next task in the list. Thus proper time management makes the business more productive and efficient, and jobs are accomplished one after the other without fail like a clockwork.
In light of better time management, the entrepreneur feels complete control of their life and actions. Also, they think they have the priorities and can divide their time between different issues that need their attention. Contrary to those with poor time management who do not have the faintest idea of things to accomplish and mostly wasting time and energy.
Resolute pays
Successful entrepreneurs strictly stick to their schedules, even religiously writing their activities for the following days and astoundingly boost their self-esteem while earning a considerable sum of money. Analogous to a stressed entrepreneur who simply leads a chaotic life letting the waves of life toss them in random directions. Entrepreneurs with poor time management are in fear that they cannot accomplish all the things they want. They will simply give up before the start of the fight, with their hands up will exclaim, “Fate did not destine me for fortune.”
However, developing time management skills is not a walk in the park. The successful entrepreneur went to an enormous transformation in their thinking. After a period of self-struggle, the successful entrepreneur wanted to seize the moment. They tried to take the initiative, consequently generating for their business heaps of success and turning to a better person. People around them consider them an achiever rather than a victim of circumstances.
Time is subjective
Notice how time flies when you are having fun, especially when you are with your friends laughing, enjoying their company. However, time lags too long when you are studying or doing your business plan. You just want to get these activities over as fast as possible. Also, you feel that the entire day had passed when you are waiting for your takeout pizza. Life is a drag. You want your life to be fabulous. Then you start to wonder that the 24 hours a day is not enough to accomplish the things you want to get done in a day. It is because time is more than what the clock tells us.
